Asian Garlic Tofu


  • 225g super firm tofu
  • 60ml Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil


Start by preparing the tofu: drain using a paper towel then cut into even cubes. In a medium bowl, stir together Hoisin sauce, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes. Place tofu cubes in the sauce and stir to coat then leave to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is sizzling hot, add tofu. Once nicely seared on the bottom, flip over. Continue to cook until seared on bottom. Serve with steamed vegetables or your favourite noodles and garnish with spring onions. Serves 2.
